STORY
People have told me I make too much noise since the moment I came into this world, but I wasn't born to blend in. Neither were you.
The Captain
Chris Gutierrez spent 27 years in the United States Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer, traveling the world and learning the language of beer one port at a time. Back home, he brewed between deployments and studied the breweries he loved, always paying attention to what made a place feel worth returning to. Long before Swamp Cat had walls or tanks, he already knew what he wanted it to be.

The Mission
After 27 years of service, Chris traded a ship’s bridge for a mash tun and built Swamp Cat Brew Co. with purpose. The mission is simple: make excellent craft beer inspired by Southwest Florida, give back to the community, and have fun doing it. Backed by his wife Jennie and a family that believed in the dream from the start, that vision now lives on the corner of Fowler & MLK in a restored church built for gathering once again.
